The function of the connecting rod set is to connect the piston with the crankshaft, transfer the gas pressure from the piston to the crankshaft and cooperate with the connecting rod to change the linear reciprocating motion of the piston to the rotary motion of the crankshaft.

The size and direction of these forces are cyclical changes, so the connecting rod is subjected to compression, tension and lateral bending and other alternating stresses. If the stiffness is not enough to make the big head hole deformed out of round, it will cause the cylinder and piston of the bias grinding, causing the elimination of gas and oil.
